Fenrir serves as a therapy cat for Dr. William Powers, a family doctor and HIV specialist from Farmington Hills, Michigan. When Fenrir was only 12 weeks old, he adopted him. Despite the fact that his record-breaking height came as a bit of a surprise, it was expected that the cat would grow larger due to his breed. Fenrir is an F2 Savannah Cat, a hybrid breed that was approved by the International Cat Association (TICA) in 2001. It is a cross between a domestic cat and an African serval. The F1 female gave birth to Fenrir, a member of the F2 generation who had several grandparents. A tall wild cat by the name of Kongo, a serval, gave Fenrir the genetics for his incredible height. Fenrir is tall for his breed despite having such a distinguished pedigree. He stands 18.83 inches (47.83 centimeters) tall compared to the normal person’s 14 to 17 inches.

According to Dr. Powers, because Fenrir is a Savannah cat, people frequently argue that the records are unjust. According to the Guinness Book of Records, a cat must belong to a breed that is approved by the International Cat Association in order to compete in a cat record.
